# Adjacent News

> Adjacent is an indexing and benchmarking company for prediction markets and event contracts. adj.news is an agent-facing forward indexing provider: every index and methodology document below is available as markdown via content negotiation. Append `?format=md` to the URL or send `Accept: text/markdown`. The same data is served from a public, CORS-open, no-auth JSON API at `https://api.dev.adjacent.markets/api/v1/public` (15-min delayed), and as **MCP tools** at `https://mcp.adjacent.markets/mcp` (see https://docs.dev.adjacent.markets/explore/mcp).

> Probability-based index values use a **50–150 scale** (`50 + win-probability %`), so 100 = a 50/50 race and `value − 50` = implied win-probability. RED = Republican strength, BLUE = Democratic strength. An index with `methodology: total_return` uses a base-100 cumulative-return scale, and an index with `quote_convention: points` uses methodology-defined points.
